Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT)
Collagen Induction Therapy is an innovative facial treatment using a device covered with tiny needles that slightly pierce the skin causing a “micro-injury”, which causes the skin to stimulate collagen production.
Pre-treatment instructions:
- Avoid the use of topical agents such as exfoliants, retinoids, or even any type of acids for at least 6 days before the precedure.
- During the 3 days before treatment, avoid taking anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen, or even Motrin, among others, this time.
- Do not take any IPL/Laser procedures, and avoid direct sun exposure or tanning during the 2 weeks prior.
- Avoid waxing, depilatory creams on the area to be treated for at least 7 days before the procedure.
- Do not shave the day of the procedure to avoid skin irritation.
Post-Treatment Instructions:
- Do not apply ice to the face and avoid the use of arnica/bromelain, as they may interfere with the natural healing process.
- Avoid tanning and prolonged direct sun exposure for 2 weeks before at all costs. When going out, apply and reapply a good sunscreen.
- If you feel any type of pain, use a pain reliever such as Tylenol.
